From my studies of Quechua, I quickly realized that the best way to acquire basic conversational proficiency in the language to was to immerse myself in the suffixes and verb conjugations.
My study plan:
- Learn most commonly used verbs and suffixes.
- Memorize and practice how to conjugate verbs.
- Write and recite sentences and/or dialogues using conjugations and suffixes.
- Practice speaking with locals to figure out areas that need more focus on.
- Keep writing and reciting sentences, dialogues, and stories in Quechua until it all starts to click and make sense to you
- Remember to go at your own pace and to not rush yourself. Language learning doesn’t have to be a race to perfection. It is okay to make mistakes and work on areas that need more practice.
Quechua, like many other languages, conjugates verbs. Conjugating verbs in Quechua was the easiest of the trails I had faced studying the language. I think that once you have delved off the deep end into a complex grammar system like Russian, everything else seems a bit easier.

In my opinion, once you know how to conjugate and herd verbs into appropriate sentences, you will have the ability to write just about any sentence in Quechua! PDF download of conjugation chart below.
