Music is another great way to master the fundamentals of a language. It is also something that brings people together in smiles and laughter.
Listening to music in a target language can helps a learner obtain well-rounded vocabulary lists, spoken mastery, cultural knowledge, as well as being able to impress locals and possibly entice them into a sing-a-long.
While learning Quechua, I memorized many songs and poems in order to broaden my language study.
First, here are some Quechua films you can watch:
Kukuli (1961), The Milk of Sorrow (2009), Blood of the Condor (1969)
Here are some of my favorite songs/ poems/ cartoon/ films that guided me along my journey of studying the language of the Incas.
Kutisaq poem by Ciro Galvez
Añañau by Alborado
Chirapaq
Kikilla lullaby by Mariela Condo
Any song by Renata Flores is amazing and equally helpful for getting further absorbed by Quechua tunes and language acquisition.
The Fox and the Condor, A Quechua cartoon
Another poem by Ciro Galvez
Happy listening!
